That’s what bringing this convention to reality was like for us. A dream! Nothing worth doing is ever easy, of course. Lots of racing around, making checklists, fussing on the details, planting seeds and raising barns. There certainly was just so much to do… and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
The staff here are all Pony fans. We’re not employees, we’re all volunteers. The only difference between BAP attendees and staff is we hold more meetings and get to watch less Pony. So why do it? Because Pony fans are simply the best in the entire world. They are friendly, caring, creative, skilled, and amazing people. Also, we’re a bit nuts. You don’t have to be crazy to run a convention like this, but it certainly helps.
We’d like to thank everypony and everyone who made this worth it at the end of a very intense planning season and the end of a very long weekend. A big thanks to our loyal and skilled staff, which money couldn’t buy in any industry. A cheerful salute to honored guests who we chose based on how awesome and fan-friendly they are, a couple of whom showed up despite scheduling conflicts and overdue personal projects. A special thanks to our sponsors Midtown Comics and Rainbow Honey, and to our neighbors the super sweet folks at Enter-Play’s pop-up shop. We’d like to thank the pegasi for no rain. Also, thank you to the NY Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge for hosting us all weekend; your professionalism and attention to detail rivals anything we have ever worked with.
